According to Harris/Decima Chairman AllanGregg: “Neither major political party will find much joy in these findings. Basically, they show both the Liberals and the Conservatives trailing "None of the above" and "Don't know" when it comes to who is best able to handle the major challenges facing the country today --namely, managing the economy and developing a plan to balance the budget. These results also provide some pretty meaningful insights into why voter preference has been -- more or less in a constant state of deadlock for much of the last 5 years. When neither the Liberals or the Conservatives can convince more than 25% of the electorate that they hold values that the population shares, it should come as no surprise that voters consider their political options, alternatively, with indifference or disinterest.”
